Class of 1960
17019 Jigsaw Parkway, Round Rock, Tx 78664, 512-252-4528 mlou1210@cox-internet.com Hello everyone, however no one from the class of 1960 seems to be listed. After graduating from Adamson, I had every intention of going to nursing school after I had worked
to save some money. Well you know how that goes, or maybe you don't. I was working for SW Bell and dated a fellow from Perkins School of Theology at SMU, a blind date set up for me by my youth minister
at Oak Cliff Methodist. Well, this blind date, turned into a lifetime date. We were married on a Friday, 13 July 1962 and find 13 to be a very lucky number for us.
In 2000, my husband Bob retired
from the ministry, after serving churches in the Indiana and the Southwest Texas Conference, including Schulenburg, Kingsville, San Antonio, Brady, Austin, San Angelo and Corpus Christi and we moved to
the Austin area. Mainly we moved here because we love Central Texas, but more than that, to be close to our two children who stayed here when we moved away in 1990. They both work for Motorola. My
husband drives a school bus for the Round Rock ISD. I work for Seton Healthcare Network in The Seton Fund office. It is interesting work, especially in these trying financial times. We raise money for
the charity care provided by the Daughters of Charity who founded the hospital in Austin 100 years ago. Their mission is lived daily and it is rewarding working for an organization that provides care to
anyone.
We love to travel. Mainly our favorite get away is Mustang Island and Port Aransas. We go there as often as we can. It seems as though we were always moving or couldn't be located when the
class reunions rolled around, but I would love to hear from old friends.
Class of 1961
jdme01@juno.com I have spent 30 years in the Graphics Industry beginning as an apprentice under Mr. Melton in ICT (Industrial Cooperative Training) during my senior year at W. H. Adamson and working after school. What was supposed to be 4 hours a day, I usually worked 8 to 10 hours each day while in school and typically 16 to 18 hours a day, seven days a week after graduation. Mr. Melton really tried to catch me because it was against school policy for me to work that many hours. In the 60's Typography was a specialized trade of the graphic arts industry and work was never scarce. It was the #3 industry in America in work levels and pay scale. Now it doesn't exist with the advent of the home computer. After 3 years of shop and customer service, I went into sales working the 10 worst customers that the company had and ended my career with 800+ customers throughout north Texas. Computers have replaced the Typography Industry with the desktop publishing software and typestyles available to anyone. In 1990, I began doing desktop graphics and specialized in cosmetic labeling specifically for the silkscreen industry working with many chemical labs in north Texas. I retired from graphics in 1999 to devote full time to my oldest daughter that was injured and needed rehabilitation. Her improvements have no longer required my full time attention and presently working toward building a website offering specialty products and services. My knowledge of computers have also allowed for me to build specialty computers for the graphics industry. the 24-7 demand for my time made it impossible to continue.
Times have been a constant learning curve. I was not a star student but it has been amazing what the mind retained from all my teachers at Adamson. They did have their challenge with me. I regret
that the students in school today are not learning the depth of education that Adamson insisted we get in the 50's. We will survive. I only regret that I did not take the time to get to know every
classmate that I went to school with. They were all a treasure chest of personality and individuality. I miss them all!

jorolaw@aol.com There is no moss growing on this old rock! As Chair of the Class of '61, I have been kept incredibly busy this past year with the 40th Anniversary of our Graduation. Our Reunion on 9/27+28, 2001, was a huge success and we're looking forward to the 45th! Also, I'm a performing member of the Dallas Tap Dazzlers, a 26-member group of ladies ranging in age from 48-79. We have won 5 National Tap Dance Championships and numerous other awards and honors. We perform approx. 100 times per year and have traveled from New York to Las Vegas to Louisiana to Nebraska and all over Texas. We also have a parade unit and were invited to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, Nov. 2000. Watch for us locally!
For the past 17 years, I have worked as legal assistant for Tom Mills, a criminal defense attorney voted one of Dallas' Best Lawyers and featured in "D" Magazine, Spring 2001. We've
represented clients in exciting cases such as the Madalyn Murray O'Hair murder case, the Dan Peavy school trustee case and many, many more. Who knows if we'll ever retire...what in the world would we do
with ourselves! My husband, Roger, and I are just celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary. I think our relationship could best be described: I am the babbling brook and he is the still waters. With our
blended families - counting sons- and daughters-in-law, we have a total of 10 kids and 14 grandkids. The whole kit-n-kaboodle will be coming from all over the U.S. to spend Christmas 2001 with us. It
will be the first time the entire clan has been together. Pray for Roger and Me!! Finally, and most importantly, Roger and I are very active in our faith and in our church, Hampton Road Baptist in
DeSoto, where we met and married. We participate in choir, on various committees, and praise God for the fellowship we have there. I'm very proud of my Adamson High School foundation. I hope today's
students will look back with the same sense of loyalty and know that they have a history that is special and unique to us.

szareff@aol.com I have lived 31 years in Brooklyn, New York, but still consider Texas my roots. I worked at the World Trade Center for 15 years. Fortunately, I was voting for the Mayor of New York City the morning of 9/11; however, this disaster is indelible in my mind and heart having watched it from the Brooklyn side of the East River. My focus has been in theatre in which I have been a professional acting coach and teacher for 25 years. Travel is a passion of mine; most recently I went to Cuba with Winston Churchill's granddaughter - one of the exciting trips ever. I keep up with many classmates and always enjoy hearing about everyone from Adamson High School.

(deceased Sept.22, 2005) 10929 Yorkspring Dr., Dallas, TX 75218-1239; 214-340-0642; hardtins@swbell.net .
Say whasupp? My information is that I was saved by the grace of God when I was four, yep, four (4). I've spent the last 54 years learning. I attended Lida Hooe Grade School, Roger Q. Mills grade school,
Boude Storey Jr. Hi, and Adamson High. When I graduated from Big "A" in Big "D" in 1963--the greatest graduating class ever from Big "A" or any other high school
anywhere (as a point of information), I attended the University of Tulsa on a full grant-in-aide NCAA athletic scholarship (only the third time I had been out of Texas). I stopped and read all those
"Historical Markers" on the way to Tulsa in my new 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 Fastback. Yes maa'm! What a lucky guy! There I met and married the prettiest and smartest girl ever to come out of
Oklahoma, my wife of thirty-five years of matrimonial bliss, Ronda Lynne Hardt. We have three kiddos: David, Amy Jim; four grand kids: Sallie, Meghan, Maddie, Sam. Thank you Jesus! After the Vikings,
Rams, and Lions decided I was better suited for the bleachers than on the field I "retired" from football, so-to-speak. So, I went to work for the great Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. I
wowed them for 12 years and then got bounced outta there for being so very wonder. Then I worked and worked and am now helping my wife (her go-fer) in the residential real estate business. Plus I play
golf with anyone who asks: with the required 15 minutes prior notice stipulation, no exceptions. So, I'm singing and I'm praying. I'm working and I'm playing. Call me if you need a friend. 214-212-9841. Back, Charles Hardt, number 10 in your programs, number ONE in your hearts, GO LEOPARDS!
Class of 1964
capt-midnite1@msn.com After I left Adamson, I went to NTSU was not my thing so the US Army picked my option for a couple of years. I was in the 101st Airborne Div. After that I have been in the sales field either inside or outside But now I have found my calling amongst the Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Chocolate Cups ( where, the cream filling) I have three wonderful sons and life is good.
75407; 972-734-6075 zzbear52@aol.com I am currently the happiest man on earth! After ending my first marriage in 1992, I met a woman (Pat) who has been like a life saver to me. We share many things in common and love to be together. I have 5 children from my first marriage who have given me 10 great grandchildren. My second time around has netted 3 step-children and 4 grandchildren. I have spent 34 years with the Dallas Police Department, the first 10 years of which were in the Southwest Patrol District. I transferred to the Traffic Division in October of 1978 and found a home in the Accident Investigation Section. I’ve seen some pretty horrible stuff, but I learned early on to put the bad out of my mind and do my job.
I will always have fond memories of the Class of ’64. My classmates, and many of those who followed right after me, are never far from my thoughts. You who work so tirelessly on the Alumni
Association newsletter have my thanks and appreciation. It’s great to see so many names I recognize from the past. Have a good life everyone. I am!

1505 Maryland, Houston, TX 77006; 713-529-8737 dickarj@towers.com Not easy to sum up your life in a short paragraph, but here it goes. I've lived in Austin, El Paso, Hawaii, and now Houston. I was married for 14 years and divorced in 1992. I now live with a wonderful guy and we own a townhouse in the Montrose area of Houston. We both act in community theater. He has real talent, I just do it for fun. My only child is a miniature chocolate poodle named Killer. He's 12 years old and still going strong. Life is good.
ntbf@prodigy.net I went into the Navy from 1965 to 1968. Back to Dallas in 1968 as a printing salesman. Have been in the printing business since I was in ITC at Adamson. Married a Tyler girl in 1971. We just celebrated our 30th.
201 North Preston , Ennis, TX 75119; 972-878-2907 anitatenpenny@aol.com Our investment business keeps us all busy. We primarily buy single family residential property, have the rehab work done, and owner finance for our buyer. Quite often, we then repackage the loan and sell the note on the secondary note market. It is an interesting business! Sam is very involved with his graduation class (SOC 1962). They are working on their upcoming reunion. Our daughter Delaney is 27 and our son Zackery is 22. Delaney's daughter Carly (7 yrs) is our only grandchild. Sam loves cars, I love hearing from old friends. We both enjoy trying new restaurants in Dallas. Simple pleasures.
texsan@webtv.net I am single. Worked in the insurance industry for 25 years. Gave up to do what I've cared about since childhood, to care for animals. I have been on the BOD of another humane society, then joined Operation Kindness in 1990 as a Manager. I show AKC greyhounds. All my immediate family is still alive and well. My brother, Chuck('66) and Sally (Davis '66) live in Eagle River Alaska. My brother, Scott lives in Cedar Hill Tx. My sister Glenda lives in Dallas and my sister Keely lives in Florida.
smszymanski@earthlink.net After working for about 25 years as a computer scientist, primarily developing compilers for various computer manufacturers, I left the work force in 1994 to become a fulltime homemaker and volunteer. Although my only child, Emily, is now out of college, I still enjoy being at home. I spend most of my time studying and teaching at our church, as well as volunteering time for pastoral counseling and various church outreach programs. I enjoyed my career, but I find this "job" even more exciting and fulfilling!

1005 Boardwalk, Midlothian, TX 76065, (972) 723-6822 dharvey47@yahoo.com Many years have past since high school, and I have only kept in touch with two people on a regular basis, but I feel blessed to have known them all these years and to have seen how well they turned out. I regret that I didn't get to know more people. I've been single since 1978, and have spent the past 13 years working in Customer Service for McGraw-Hill Publishing. I have two grown daughters who have given me six grandsons, with a granddaughter on the way shortly. I have one twin daughter, who died at two days old, and a grandson who died of SIDS at 20 months. There have been a lot of tragedies in my life, but my faith in God has sustained me. My hobby is writing poetry, and it has proven to be very therapeutic for me. I would describe myself as someone who strives to live a simple life, with a desire to not waste time on things that don't matter. I would love to hear from anyone who still remembers me.
1901 So. 543 E., Orem, UT 84058; 801-224-3597; jayada321321@aol.com . After graduation from college, I stayed home to raise our nine children. A few years ago I went back to work as a teacher working with lst graders. I married an elementary teacher, too.
3120 International Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521. Email = Phillipchowell@yahoo.com It is difficult to summarize my life in one paragraph - but here goes: It has been 10 years of schooling after dear old Adamson High School, 12 years of military (1967 - 69 enlisted and the rest 1975 - 85), 1 year teaching at Baylor College of Dentistry, 10 years of practicing dentistry in Irving Texas, and the last 11 years practicing here in Brownsville, Texas. I have the fondest memories of my 1st marriage, my only child - a daughter 38 years old and 2 wonderful grandsons; also being a Scoutmaster in Dallas and at my many military duty stations; being the district Chairman for Special Scouting; coaching many junior bowling leagues throughout the years; and all the times I volunteered in the Irving Rotary "Teacher's Aid/ESL Program". The most significant event of my life was when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the age of 42. I am now at peace and ready for anything my Lord has planned for me. I pray that you have also accepted Jesus as your one true salvation. Please feel free to communicate with me at Phillipchowell@yahoo.com . May God Bless you and keep you healthy and in comfort.
33-C Aspen Drive (PO Box 682708), Park City, UT; 435-649-6335; johnamcd@parkcityut.com . I am currently living in Park City, Utah where I teach history in at Treasure Mountain Middle School. I have taught for thirty years and God willing, with good behavior, I'll be out soon. Strangely enough, I enjoy teaching and have had a terrific run with it here in Park City being selected twice as Teacher of the Year and twice as the most influential teacher for graduating seniors (having never taught in the high school). I love the area, people and in summers, as most teachers do, I have a summer job to support my teaching habit. Mine is working on the golf course at Park Meadows Country Club. It really isn't a bad life - excepting of course when we get buried in snow. At times I miss Texas and all that goes with it, but when I return, it's just very different and I quickly become homesick for the mountains. I look forward to our 40th Reunion, if only to prove to some people that I'm alive - there were bets I wouldn't make it this long. So guys, I'll see you there. McD

I now work at Methodist Charlton Medical Center. If I see a classmates name on the roster I try to go up and visit. If you don't want to see me, better sign in as John Doe!! I do keep up with Jeanell Brooks Ray. We do lunch quite often. I always look forward to seeing my classmates. Too bad we only have reunions every 5 years. Would be nice if everyone wanted to do lunch sometime!! Fredna
114 St. Andrews Circle, Lindale, TX 75771; 903-881-9425; pbskiing@aol.com . Having lived in the Midwest and East Coast for thirty-one years, my husband and I have returned to Texas to retire at Hide-A-Way Lake. Hope to see some friends from the class of 65!
Class of 1966
kcollins@del-valle.k12.tx.us I moved to Austin in 1969 after graduating from North Texas and am STILL a high school business teacher in my 33rd year at Del Valle High School. It's interesting teaching the children of many of your past students. I guess you could say I have been rather active at Del Valle as I have sponsored Cheerleaders, Pep Squad, coached Boys & Girls' Varsity Tennis (all in my younger years!) and sponsored National Honor Society, Senior classes and Junior classes. Currently, I am an active UIL Accounting Coach, senior class co-sponsor, and serve as Career & Technology Department chairperson. Students definitely have changed over the past 33 years! I love to travel--most of which involves snow skiing and scuba diving. This is my 4th year on the board of directors for Austin Skiers, a year-round sports/social club. My mother, sister, brother-in-law, aunt and two cousins are also Adamson graduates. Would love to hear from grads of '66.
2419 Lockhart, Dallas, TX 75228; 214-321-0483; charliet53@sbcglobal.net . I have been married to Charles for thirty-six years. We have three children, Jeff 33, Andrea 30 and Justin 22. We have six grandchildren. I have been working with Special Needs Kids for 5 yrs. I show dogs in my spare time. I have stayed in touch with a few of my classmates over the years. I hope we can have a reunion of sorts soon. I met Charles in '65, never dated him until after graduation, though we did meet secretly at the dances. I miss those days tremendously.
- Elizabeth “Betty” J. McCloy Hodge
Elizabeth “Betty” J. McCloy Hodge, 1214 Hi Stirrup, Unit 108, Horseshoe Bay, TX 78657; 830-598-1507; EMcCloyHodge@aol.com.
I moved in early 2007 to the Hill Country about 15 NW of Marble Falls and 17 SE lo Llano in the quite village of Horseshoe Bay with lots of golf courses and retirees. Oh, and way more deer than the average town. There are two kinds of people that live in Horseshoe Bay: Those who have hit deer and those that are going to hit deer. Me, I just keep a watchful eye and pray I don’t hit any Bambi’s……….oh, and drive very cautiously and slowly.
2266 NW 39th Ave., Coconut Creek, FL 33066; 954-971-5952; ariley@ccmiami.com . To paraphrase Chico Esquela, "Radio been berry berry good to me" I have spent the last 35 years working on the radio around the country. My latest stop is WIOD Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, where I do mornings. My biggest career influence is Mr. Johnston who worked weekends at KVIL when he was teaching English/Speech/Drama at Adamson. Second biggest was Mr. Forgey (God! Did I mis-spell his name? Radio, it's my life. Thanks to Mr. Johnston I was able to follow my destiny and have had a very successful career in the broadcasting biz. I began at KLIF-KNUS in 1968 and have never looked back. I have worked in Dallas, Detroit, St. Louis, San Antonio, Tulsa, Houston, Palm Beach, and Miami. Though I have never become wealthy, I have met many wonderful people and have worked with some of the biggest names in broadcasting. I was there when they dug up and autopsied Lee Harvey Oswald--how many other guys can say that? I was the very first person to report the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa. My life has been and continues to be a wonder. Folks I wonder about are Larry Darnell, Lon Dale Oakley, and Kathy or was it Cathy Hultsman. No particular reason why, they just stand out in my memory. Teachers I remember and love include Mr. Johnston, Mr. David Forgey, Ms. Carolyn Creel, Ms. Helen Swaner, and our beloved Miss Tilley.
506 Flamingo Way, Duncanville, TX 75116; 972-298-3513; sutherlm@hotmail.com . I married a woman from Missouri in 1990 where I lived until moving back to Texas in 2000. I am still working on my MBA and hope to complete it soon, the rest of the time I spend spoiling my grand children. Since high school, I was successful in sales and working with number related type jobs. I was an associate pastor of Sunset Baptist Church for a short time, most of my ministry related around evangelism and children ministries. I am looking back on the days at Adamson and how much fun they were. Being a member of the band there were a lot of fun days but we worked hard in the fall to put on those halftime shows at Leopard football games. All the ex band members remember Mr. Beckhart's long speeches. I often wonder how a man so short could talk so much. I am looking to talk with ex band, choir and class members from 64 - 68 especially class of 1966.

dsoma492002@yahoo.com. As high school sweethearts, Michael and I have been married since May of 1970.
We have two wonderful grown children. Our daughter, Lona Henderson, age 36 (married Bobby Henderson of Toledo, Ohio in 1999 who also has a daughter, Bianca Raquel Henderson (15) from a previous marriage) and our son, Phillip, age 27, (graduate of Texas Tech University as a Graphic Designer). We both retired in 2004 as federal employees serving over 30 years. I worked for the Immigration and Naturalization Service before it became the Department of Homeland Security. Also worked for several other federal agencies including Social Security Administration before landing my final job as Customs and Border Protection Officer. Michael worked for the Department of Labor in the Bureau of Labor Statistics as a Statistical Assistant. Since retiring, we are enjoying volunteering our time delivering Meals on Wheels in the Arlington area once a week. We do projects around the house that we couldn’t get to when we were working. I don’t know how we found the time to work when now we stay so busy. Once or twice a week we get together with other retirees and gave breakfast or lunch. Michael enjoys going to lunch with his former boss and co-worker and go to a movie once a month. We also enjoy camping and traveling in our trailer with our close friends. Our travels have taken us to Red River, Albuquerque, Taos, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Of course our traveling companion also includes our dog, Abby. We also like to spend as much time as possible with our granddaughter, Bianca, who attends DeSoto High School as a freshman. She was selected to the varsity team in tennis and is doing well. I’m also an active member in our worship choir department at Calvary Church in Irving, Texas, My daughter and her husband participate in the Young Couples ministry and she also heads the Saturday Mornings at Calvary (SMAC) that meet quarterly as part of the Women’s Ministry. We have truly been blessed with a wonderful family. Hope to hear from some Adamson classmates.

1619 Homewood Place, Dallas,TX 75224; 214-942-9772 mart8772@aol.com I have worked for the Dallas Independent School District for 25 years. I was an ESL teacher for 5 years at North Dallas High School, 13 years at Woodrow Wilson High School , and 1 wonderful year at Adamson. The one year (99-00) at Adamson was truly rewarding in that I had the opportunity to teach with some of my former teachers while being able to give something back to my community. (Thank you Ms. Everman, Mr. Dudley, and Mr. Duncan!) Currently, I am a Multi-Language Instructional Specialist working in Area 1 of DISD, and my boss is Ed Baca, a former principal at Adamson. I have a 12 year old son, Jacob, who is the light of my life.

1912 Pajarito Ct.DeSoto, TX 75115; 972-283-0944;bfhayes@flash.net I Married Paula Dandridge (Kimball Grad '74) in 8/76. I have three children Justin (born '82), Ashley (born '85) and Lindsay (born '86). We moved to DeSoto in '93...we were lifelong Oak Cliff residents until that time. I have been a Credit Manager for the past 19 years for various companies. Amazing how time has flown.
I went to SMU directly from Big A. During my sophomore year I spent a semester in Spain and it was the best learning experience. After SMU I
completed a Master's program at Harvard. I then married Rosemary, who I met at SMU. She is a graduate of Woodrow and is originally from San Antonio. Then in 1980 I started law school in Houston and I was
licensed as an attorney in May of 1983. I prosecuted at the the Dallas County DA's Office from 1983-1986. I have now been a criminal defense litigator for some 15 years. We have two sons, Andrés(16) and
Gabriel(9). We have been married for 23 years. Rosemary works for the DISD. My mother still lives at 646 Brooks. I remain in regular contact with Tony Lozano, also a 1973 graduate. I contribute to worthy
causes and do some public speaking to DISD students. I live near White Rock Lake and I visit Oak Cliff at least once per week. LicRincon@AOL.com

Garcia Elementary in Grand Prairie, where children think, dream, believe, and achieve. I am married and have a son who will graduate from high school soon. I am very active in my community, especially in organizations that promote education. I enjoy what I do and have been in the field of education for twenty-four years.
tncarlyle@aol.com . It is hard to believe that it has been 30 years since I graduated from Adamson. I had a wonderful time while at Adamson and made some great friends. I loved being in drill team and being a Leopardette Leader. I went on to Mountain View College and Richland College. I was an executive secretary the first ten years and have been in the legal industry for the last twenty years. I am now working for a trial attorney representing large car manufacturers in product liability/fire cases. It is very fast paced and exciting. I am happily married to Richard Carlyle (Irving High School 1980) and we have a beautiful daughter, Melissa, who is 14. She is Co-Captain of her drill team and on the dance team for Carter Dance Academy. As assistant director of the drill team, I take the girls to dance competitions and it brings back the love of dance that I had when I was young.
Class of 1974
After college I went into Law Enforcement for 6 years at a local Police department. After this I opened my own business for 4 years
but due to economy I went back into Police work for another 12 years. During this time I obtained my Advanced Texas Peace Officer Certification, Instructors Certification, Advanced Instructors
Certification, Weapons instructor and Advanced Weapons Instructor Certification. I also obtained my Defensive Tactics Instructors Certification and Crime Scene Investigators rating including Arson and
traffic investigation and served as a Field Training Officer.
In 1999 after 10 years of working with computers in my spare time I got into the business full time first as a technician then as a
Computer Network Specialist with the Arlington Public Library. I have continued my education with obtaining 7 Microsoft Computer Certifications, 3 CompTIA Computer Certifications and 1 Industry
Independent Certification.
I am married to Linda Sue Brownmiller (sorry she is an R.L.Turner graduate BUT she did go to Texas Tech if that gets me any points!). We met in 1980 and were friends for
a few years then were together for about a year then separated in 1985. There is a very long story about how we got back together but in 1991 we started dating again and got married on July 4, 1994.
There is another story about how we settled on this date but too long for here... We don't have any kids but we do have 2 Scottish Terrier's, Montgomery Scott Campbell (Scottie( (would any other name
fit!)) and Lady Fiona Campbell (Lady...sometimes she isn't!).
My father also went to Adamson, Vaughn L. Johnson and graduated in 1954. He passed away in 1984.
That's not my full life but
enough for here... Also, I am on www.classmates.com and I maintain a limited contact with other Adamson classmates there. Thanks....Richard- richard@richardljohnson.com
