NEWS!!! GOLF TOURNEY RETURNS TO STEVENS PARK NEWS!!! Stevens Park Golf Course will host the Adamson Alumni Golf Tournament this spring. Held annually on the Friday preceding the All-Class Reunion of the association the tournament will return to the newly-renovated course this spring, according to Rod McFarland, director of the event. “After this improvement and because of the course’s long-time association with the tournament, Stevens was selected for the site for Friday, April 27,2012” McFarland added. “The redesign will offer a fun time for the golfers this spring,” he said. Details and entry forms for the annual event will be included in the next issue of the Alumni Acorn. Stevens Park recently reopened after a 10 month-long $7.9 million major renovation which improved its fairways and greens. The course was resodded and regraded, and a new irrigation system was added. More than 900 trees were also planted. An additional length of 500 yards was added to the golf course, as well.

	Oak Cliff Boys If you grew up in Oak Cliff or attended Adamson H.S. in the late 50’s or 60’s, you will absolutely love this book. It’s full of nostalgic stories and personal views of life back in the days of Madras shirts and teased hair.

Lon Oakley from the class of ’65 compiled this 471 page book to capture the spirit and truly unique portrait of how special life was, as it revolved around AHS and Oak Cliff in general. Since the release of “Oak Cliff Boys” in April of this year, the book has seen brisk sales, and only one hundred or so books remain. Click-here for more book information:

Something to remember W.H. Adamson

This is a commission by Paul Tadlock Adamson class of 1953. Paul created the Leopard head exclusively for the Adamson Alumni Association. It is solid bronze, signed by Paul. Paul is one of America’s leading sculptors whose works sell for thousands of dollars. His work is prominently displayed in public displays, museums, galleries, and private collections around the world. This is the time to donate the Association needs you!
